WCLA COMMERCIAL BRED HEIFER SHOW AND SALE

GENERAL INFORMATION PAGE

The mission of the WCLA commercial bred heifer show and sale is to produce high quality commercial bred heifers for cattle producers in Williamson and surrounding counties that will be ready to turn out to pasture while helping to develop our next generation of agriculture producers.

Notice of Intent – March 15, 2026
  • Exhibitors should notify Commercial Heifer superintendent via email at [email protected] of their intention to tag commercial heifers as well as the location of housing of heifers no later than Wednesday March 15, 2026.
 
Validation Day – April 4, 2026
  • Tags (2) one in each ear
  • Vaccines – 8 way, IBR, Viralshield 6
  • Dewormer – Pour On
  • Identification – Pictures
  • Turn in a breeding/management plan
  • Validation Fees – Due $100/head, check only made payable to WCLA
  • Heifers will be palpated at this time
  • Recommended minimum weight 600 lbs
 
Palpation Day – November 21, 2026
  • Must have 2 bred heifers to constitute “a pen”
  • Recommended to be last trimester bred
  • Must be bred to a low birthweight bull
 
Disposition of Animals
  • Heifers must have a gentle disposition
  • Recommended uniformity I.E. Size, Kind, Markings
 
Show Day – December 11, 2026
  • Check in 9am-11am
  • Show starts @ 1pm
  • Buyer viewing 5:00pm-6:30pm
  • Sale @ 7pm
  • Heifers must be loaded out at conclusion of the Sale
  • A buyer may take ownership and haul themselves at Sale
  • If a private treaty sale of a non-placing pen of Heifers transaction takes place, the transaction must be ran through the WCLA
